Personal Statement

Education, to me, is truly the fundamental driving force of this nation. I believe that knowledge is power and with the right amount of knowledge one can accomplish anything. I not only want to educate my students, but also teach them to find joy in learning. I believe that you never stop learning and growing in this life. My philosophy is that students should not simply learn, but they should be fully immersed in their own education and take responsibility for their learning. I have a passion to encourage my students to challenge themselves far beyond their own expectations.

Learning should not be something done only inside the walls of a classroom; but should take place with every opportunity presented. As a business education teacher, I feel my job is to help my students be successful in life no matter what path they choose.  My personal and professional background give me the opportunity to share real life experiences with my students which will allow them to relate their learning to their own lives and interests. Through business education, I am able to provide students with meaningful business skills that will promote success on a personal or professional level.

In short, my passion for teaching goes far beyond the classroom. My experience and unbounded desire make me an attractive candidate for a business education position. I believe that students should know what the world has to offer and should be given the tools necessary to reach for their goals. I can offer a rich learning experience and equip my students with the essential skills vital to a creating a successful future. John Lubbock once said, “The important thing is not so much that every child should be taught, as that every child should be given the wish to learn.”
